Yamaha India's R15 has taken off in a great style with great sales figures in three months of its launch. The R15's street-fighter sibling, the Fazer is eagerly awaited as well. Our sources have confirmed that the bike will be launched in September and the deliveries will commence by Oct. 2008. Whats interesting however, is that the bike is not going to be called a Fazer 150 or FZ15 or FZ150 as everyone speculated. The street fighter has been christened the FZ-16 - a pointer that the air cooled engine will be a 160cc!
As mentioned earlier, the new Yam will cost approximately 90K ex-showroom.

don't you think 90k is a bit too much to ask for a 160cc machine...
Yes, it definitely is. But again, the price is because of the better equipment levels. I would have still liked to see the FZ16 at a maximum price of 75K, somewhere in the range on the P200. But I would like to hold my judgment until I lay my hands on the machine
It'll mainta8in the exclusivity factor!!
But yeah..if it isnt as powerful than the RTR 180, then i might be a bit dissapointed...
Too early to comment on the next Apache..
But yes, the FZ will hold its own with the exclusivity factor. Just like the R15, even this bike will elevate the entire segment to a new level of equipment and styling..
